Micil Long Walk Irish Whiskey (70cl, 43%)

Long Walk is an Irish blended whiskey from Micil, inspired by the Latin Quarter in Galway. It combines grain and malt whiskey matured in port, ex-bourbon and virgin oak casks, and is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered with no added colour. The blend is 60% bourbon-cask grain, 20% virgin oak grain, 10% port-cask grain, 8% double-distilled port-cask malt and 2% peated malt. The whiskey comes from the Great Northern Distillery in Dundalk, County Louth. The nose offers dried orange, a sawdust-like woodiness and toasted oak. The palate brings creamy vanilla, peppery warmth, liquid caramel and honeyed smoked almonds. The finish is drying, with winey oak, wood spice, toasted nuts, gentle peat smoke and lingering spiced almond.
