This is a Millburn single malt distilled in 1975 and bottled in 2001 at 25 years old, as part of the Rare Malts series. It is a limited edition, bottled at 61.9% ABV, and straw in colour.
The nose is smoky, meaty and grassy, with mustard seeds, ham and wet chalk. The palate is punchy and fruity, with canned pineapple, orange and a slight waxiness. The finish is long, peppery and spicy, with a little resin. Added water brings wax, fir honey and vanilla pods to the nose, and a sweeter, spicier palate.
