Millburn 34 Year Old is a Highland single malt from a distillery that stopped production in 1985. It was distilled in 1967 and bottled in 2001 at 50%, as part of Douglas Laing's Old Malt Cask series, in a 70cl bottle.
It matured for 34 years in oak casks.
The nose has dried fruit, polished oak, old leather-bound books and a little tropical fruit with gentle spice. The palate is honeyed malt balanced by oak tannins, stewed orchard fruit, baking spices and a trace of tobacco leaf. The finish is long and evolving, with dried apricot, dark chocolate and oak.
