Miltonduff – 10 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail Discovery (70cl, 43%)

A ten-year-old Speyside single malt from Miltonduff, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for its Discovery range. It matured in sherry casks and is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. Discovery sorts the independent bottler's malts into sherry, bourbon and smoky profiles, and this one sits in the sherry group. Fruit, chocolate and spice lead, with freshly cut grass set against the sherry richness. The nose offers chocolate, orange marmalade, stewed raisins and baked apple. On the palate come butterscotch, roasted hazelnut, orange zest, cinnamon and warming pepper, then plum and fig jam. The finish is long, with chocolate, stewed fruit and winter spices.
