Miltonduff – 13 Year Old 2011/2024 The Octave by Duncan Taylor

This is a 13 year old Miltonduff single malt from Speyside, distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2024 by Duncan Taylor as part of The Octave. It comes from a single cask, with 89 bottles filled. The whisky first matured in standard oak casks, then moved into octave casks, which hold roughly an eighth of a standard cask, for an intensive sherry finish. It is unfiltered and of natural colour. The nose combines blossom honey and citrus with dark oak, ripe plums and a hint of tobacco. On the palate come juicy oranges and sweet raspberries with a spicy oak note, and the long finish carries the dark fruit of the sherry.
