Miltonduff – 13 Years Old Refill Bourbon Hogshead Copper & Oak Series IV (70cl, 61.4%)

A 13-year-old single malt from Miltonduff, the Elgin distillery, bottled at a cask strength of 61.4%. It is one of 75 bottles from a single cask, in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matured in a refill bourbon hogshead and opens Series IV of Copper & Oak, which shows a single cask before any finishing. The artwork, by Scottish artist Orla Stevens, shows the Birnie Symbol Stone, a 7th century Pictish stone a few miles from the distillery. Heather honey and fresh pear come through on the nose. On the palate, poached pears and zesty citrus lead into a rich, mellow finish.
