This 2012 Miltonduff is a nine-year-old single cask bottled by The Whisky Cellar at cask strength, 57.1% ABV. It spent eight years in a first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead of American oak, then just over a year in a first-fill European oak cask for its finish. The cask gave 335 bottles, each 75cl.
The nose offers warm Jamaica ginger cake, candied orange peel and caramelised brown sugar. The palate brings mocha, sugared almonds, tobacco leaf, peppercorns and orange peel. The finish leaves a lasting, gently sweet mouthfeel.
