Green Spot Chateau Montelena is a single pot still Irish whiskey from Mitchell & Son, bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle. It is the second edition of the Wine Geese series, following Green Spot Chateau Leoville Barton, released in 2015.
The whiskey was first matured in sherry and bourbon casks, then finished for 12 months in French oak Zinfandel casks from Chateau Montelena in Napa Valley.
The nose is sweet and zesty, with summer berries, apple and pineapple, plus vanilla and white chocolate. The palate has brown sugar and creamy vanilla, with cinnamon and white pepper behind. The finish is medium dry, with festive spices and a slightly nutty note.
