Mitchell & Son Yellow Spot 12 Year Old Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey (75cl)

A 12 year old single pot still Irish whiskey in a 750ml bottle. It is inspired by the original Yellow Spot, created and sold by the Dublin wine and spirit merchants Mitchell & Son, which was last seen in Ireland in the mid to late 1960s. The whiskey is matured in bourbon barrels, sherry butts and Malaga casks, the last a nod to the original, which used some spirit aged in Spanish Malaga wine casks. The nose offers mown hay, cracked black pepper, nutmeg, clove oil and green tea, with honey and peaches. On the palate are honey, pot still spice, coffee, milk chocolate, crème brûlée, red apple and toasted oak. The finish is sweet, with red grape and dry barley.
