Monmarthe Le Mont Joyeux Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru Champagne (75cl, 12.5%)

Monmarthe Le Mont Joyeux is a Brut Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru Champagne made from 100% Chardonnay grown in the Mont Joyeux parcel, which faces south-east on mainly chalky soil. The base wine spends almost eight months in large oak casks, then rests on its lees for at least six years in a chalk cellar. The dosage is 8 g of sugar. The nose is fresh and fine, with white flowers and a touch of vanilla from the oak. The palate is clean and mineral, with crisp peach and lightly tangy melon. The finish is long and round, with citrus fruit and mandarin.
