A red wine from Poggio al Lupo, made from Sangiovese in the hills around Scansano in southern Tuscany. It is partly matured in oak barrels.
It has an intense ruby red colour with garnet reflections. The nose shows ripe red fruit such as cherry and plum, with spicy and slightly balsamic notes. On the palate it is medium-bodied, fresh and structured, with soft, well-integrated tannins.
It pairs well with grilled red meats, game and aged cheeses.
