Morris Rutherglen Tokay Barrel Single Malt (70cl, 40%)

Morris Rutherglen Tokay Barrel is an Australian single malt, made from local ingredients and matured at the family's distillery in Rutherglen, Victoria. It is the second release of the Tokay Barrel. The whisky was aged mainly in French oak ex-red wine casks, then finished in barrels that previously held the distillery's 15 year old Cellar Reserve Grand Topaque (Tokay). It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. Rich copper in colour, it has a nose of dried orchard fruits, malted butterscotch and burnt toffee pecan. The palate offers fresh fruit with white chocolate creme brulee and a hint of toasted spice, and the long finish of raisin gives way to malted honeycomb.
