Mossburn Island is a blended malt Scotch whisky, and Cask Bill #1 is its finishing recipe. The blenders built a finishing cask from first-fill bourbon staves with heads of heavily toasted virgin European oak.
The nose offers baked citrus with the sharpness of fresh grapefruit, raw butternut squash and a cool line of salty smoke. On the palate come wine gums, citrus, savoury smoke, bitter roots, pepper and clove, leading to a long, smoky finish.
