Mossburn Speyside Blended Malt (75cl, 46%)

Mossburn Speyside Blended Malt is a blended malt Scotch whisky made entirely from Speyside single malts, bottled at 46% in a 750ml bottle. It is bottled without chill filtration or added colouring. The whisky has a second maturation in what Mossburn calls Cask Bill #2: Oloroso sherry butts fitted with heavily charred virgin American oak heads. The bottler selects and blends casks from Speyside distilleries rather than distilling its own spirit. The nose brings cereal malt, toasty oak, pineapple and honey, with leather, vanilla and barrel char beneath. Chocolate and vanilla lead the palate, with lemon and dried fruit sweetness. The finish is medium to long, with nougat, golden raisins and Christmas spice.
