Safe Haven is a Mystery Malt from Murray McDavid, a young single malt full of heavy peat, in a 70cl bottle. It comes from a west coast distillery first built in 1798, and the spirit carries the distillery's original name, which means safe haven.
For the last two years it matured in French wine casks from the Saint-Julien area of Bordeaux. The lively, fruity oak and the oily, peated spirit are described as very well integrated.
