Nagahama – Hand-Filled Coffee Cask Peated #3657 (50cl, 55.9%)

This is a peated single malt from Nagahama Distillery in Japan, distilled on 8 April 2022 and bottled on 25 November 2025 at a cask strength of 55.9%. It comes in a 50cl bottle, and 376 bottles were released. It belongs to the distillery's Fragrant Collaboration series, made with Bankoku Coffee, a roaster from Yamagata. The coffee character comes from a second maturation in bourbon casks that previously held premium coffee beans. The nose is dominated by roasted coffee, followed by delicate peat smoke, caramel and a bonfire-like char. The palate adds earthy peat, soil and ash alongside malt sweetness, and the finish is long, with lingering smoke and roasted coffee.
