This is the eighth batch of Nagahama single malt, a Japanese whisky bottled at 50% ABV in a 500ml bottle. The release runs to 4000 bottles and vats spirit distilled between 2020 and 2022 from different casks.
One part was distilled in 2021, aged in KOVAL casks and then given a further two years in Brazilian Amburana casks. The other was distilled in 2022 and aged for about four years in Japanese Sakura casks.
The aroma is gentle, with sakuramochi lifted by the exotic, spicy character of the Amburana.
