Naked Malt is a blended malt Scotch whisky, made from a blend of single malts and matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. The name points to those casks, which have never held whisky before, so the sherry influence goes straight into the blend.
It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle, and is described as versatile enough to sip or to use in cocktails.
The nose is smooth and oily, with cherry compote, buttered toast, malt, custard and peach. The palate is thick and sherried, with sultanas, sticky toffee pudding, raspberry jam, Victoria sponge and crème caramel. The finish is medium, with cocoa, oak and a little smoke at the very end.
