Nelcius Premium is a French single malt whisky at 45% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It is grown, malted and distilled in France at Château Laujac, a Médoc estate farmed by the family of maker René-Philippe Duboscq.
The spirit is double-distilled in small Carle-style stills and matured in French oak, with a final year in barrels that previously held the estate's AOC Médoc wines. The name comes from a family racehorse that won the Prix du Jockey Club in 1966.
The nose is buttery, with butter cookie, baking spices, vanilla and caramel. The palate is light, with orange caramel, cocoa and a hint of toast, followed by a long finish with Cabernet Sauvignon character.
