New Holland Dragon's Milk Origin Bourbon (75cl, 47.5%)

Dragon's Milk Origin is a small-batch bourbon from New Holland Spirits in Holland, Michigan, bottled at 47.5% in a 75cl bottle. It is distilled entirely on a copper pot still, from a mashbill of 70% corn, 25% malted barley and 5% rye. Each release is bottled in batches of 100 barrels or fewer. Toasted oak and vanilla lead the nose, with caramel, baking spice and a pastry-like sweetness. The palate brings caramel and brown sugar, then dried cherry, cranberry and cocoa, with a hoppy, nutty note, gentle smoke and ginger. The finish is long and warming, with allspice, sarsaparilla and toasted oak.
