Nikka Yoichi 10 Year Old Single Malt Japanese Whisky (75cl)

Nikka Yoichi 10 Year Old is a single malt from the Yoichi Distillery in Hokkaido. Nikka had dropped the age statements on Yoichi in 2015 and 2016, and brought the 10 Year Old back in early 2023, after Japan's Agency for Cultural Affairs designated ten buildings at the distillery as Important Cultural Properties. Yoichi was founded in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru and still uses coal-fired direct distillation in its pot stills. The nose is bright and fruity, with honeysuckle, vanilla, lemon zest, pear, yellow rose petals and fresh-cut oak. The palate brings warm spices, golden raisins, buttery vanilla bean and mint, with a little smoke at the back.
