Nikka Yoichi Discovery Non-Peated Single Malt Whisky 2021 Release (70cl, 47%)

This is a single malt from Nikka's Yoichi distillery, made for the Discovery series without any peat smoke. Yoichi is usually associated with smokier whisky, so this release sets that aside in favour of a fresh, fruity style closer to that of its sister distillery, Miyagikyo. It is not chill-filtered and is bottled at 47% in a 70cl bottle. The 2021 release was limited to 20,000 bottles worldwide. The flavours are described as tropical fruit, honey and apples, with freshly ground coffee and coconut, and without becoming sweet.
