This is a 36 year old blended grain Scotch whisky from North Star Spirits, distilled in 1982 and matured in an ex-bourbon cask. It was bottled in March 2019 at 52.5% in a 70cl bottle, as part of the eighth batch of North Star single cask bottlings, with 288 bottles produced.
The nose combines fruity coffee, vanilla ice cream and a touch of tobacco. The palate starts nutty, with marzipan and Brazil nut, then moves to dark chocolate and charred oak. The finish brings soft dates, oily walnut and honey.
