Oban – 14 Year Old

Oban 14 Year Old is a single malt whisky from the Oban distillery, which sits in the heart of the town of the same name and was established in 1794. It is one of the smaller distilleries in Scotland and one of the oldest still working. The malted barley is dried in a kiln where a light peat smoke gives it its character, leading to a smoky, malty dryness in the flavour and finish. The nose is rich and smoky, with medicinal and sea notes of seaweed and tarry ropes, alongside cut hay, wood smoke and a gentle estery sweetness. The palate is thick and full, with citrus and a smooth sweetness.
