Old Elk 10 Year Old Straight Bourbon is the lead bottling in the distillery's 10-Year Collection. Old Elk was founded in 2013 in Fort Collins, Colorado, and is now owned by Middle West Spirits. This bourbon is bottled at 52.5% ABV (105 proof). It is made from a mash bill of 51% corn, 34% malted barley and 15% rye. The proportion of malted barley is unusually high for a bourbon, and it is credited with adding smoothness and depth, while the rye brings spice and the corn sweetness. The distillery describes the result, after ten years of ageing, as robust yet approachable, smooth and balanced.
