Old Elk Armagnac Cask Finish Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 54.3%)

Old Elk Armagnac Cask Finish is a straight bourbon bottled at 54.25% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It belongs to the brand's Cask Finish Series. The bourbon is built on Old Elk's high-malt mash bill of 51% corn, 34% malted barley and 15% rye. It was distilled at MGP in Indiana to the recipes of master distiller Greg Metze, then finished in hand-selected Armagnac casks from Gascony at Old Elk in Fort Collins, Colorado. It is proofed down slowly, over weeks, using the distillery's low-temperature Slow Cut method. Tasting notes describe caramel, vanilla, dried fruits, oak and subtle spice with a velvety texture, alongside dark berry, earthy notes, butterscotch and malted chocolate, and a long finish.
