Old Elk Port Cask is a straight bourbon from Old Elk Distillery in Fort Collins, Colorado, part of its Cask Finished Series. It is bottled at 54.1% ABV (108.1 proof). The base is a mash bill of 51% corn, 34% malted barley and 15% rye, aged for a minimum of five years in new charred American oak. It then spent roughly ten months to a year in 59-gallon port casks from Portugal. The port finishing adds dark fruit, chocolate and gentle tannin, and the nose shows ripe red berries and cherry compote.
