Old Elk Port Cask Finish is a bourbon from Fort Collins, Colorado, made from a high-malt mash bill of 51% corn, 34% malted barley and 15% rye. It is bottled at 54.05% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The bourbon spends at least five years in new American oak, then a further 10 to 12 months in 59-gallon Portuguese oak port casks. It is part of the distillery's Cask Finish Series and was released nationally in a limited run.
Official notes give honey, orchid, apples and oak, with smoke on the finish. Reviewers also mention red-berry sweetness, rye spice and a subtle port character on the palate.
