Old Elk Wheat Whiskey is an American wheat whiskey bottled at 50% ABV in a 75cl bottle. The mash bill is 95% soft red winter wheat and 5% malted barley. It was distilled in Indiana and aged for a minimum of five years in new charred American oak. Old Elk, based in Fort Collins, Colorado, brings it down to strength with its Slow-Cut proofing method.
The nose is caramel and honey with ripe cherry, green apple and vanilla. The palate is soft and round, with peach, dried fig, vanilla, caramel and cedar. The finish is medium to long and warming, with oak and vanilla.
