A Kentucky straight bourbon from Old Forester, bottled at 86 proof (43% ABV) in a 75cl bottle. Old Forester was created in 1870 and is described as the only bourbon continuously distilled and marketed by its founding family before, during and after Prohibition.
The nose is sharp and sweet, with a strong floral character, mint, tobacco leaf and vanilla. Oak and pine support the palate, which is sharp at first before softening into sweet corn and rye grain, with spice, soft vanilla and light orange. The finish is long, warm and slightly drying.
