Old Forester Kentucky Straight Bourbon (75cl, 43%)

Old Forester is a Kentucky bourbon bottled at 43% ABV, here in a 750ml bottle. It is made at Brown-Forman's Shively distillery from a mash of 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley, and matured in air-seasoned barrels with a number 4 char. The brand dates back to 1870, when the Brown brothers named it after a local doctor who prescribed the whiskey to his patients. It was the first bourbon sold only in bottles rather than barrels, so drinkers could be sure nothing had been added along the way. It is usually described as sweetly spiced with a mellow character.
