Old Hillside – Straight Rye Whiskey "The Last Rye'd" 5 Year Barrel Age (75cl, 52%)

Old Hillside The Last Rye'd is a five-year-old straight rye whiskey, bottled at 52% in a 750ml bottle. It is a tribute to the Black jockeys Isaac Murphy, Alonzo Clayton, Oliver Lewis and Soup Perkins, who dominated Kentucky Derby racing between 1875 and 1903. From 1921 to 2000 no Black riders took part in the race, and this rye honours their history. The taste is bold and complex, with caramel, vanilla, mint and floral notes. It finishes with a slight punch of spice, and light earthy notes sit alongside the extra sweetness.
