Old Particular Glenrothes 14 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

This is a 14 year old Glenrothes single malt, bottled under the Old Particular label. It is a bottling close to the strength of the original cask, yet it is described as drinking without any harshness in the throat. The character leans towards rich fruitcake with an unusual herbal streak. The nose combines fruitcake with the freshness of wet tarmac after rain, with raisins to the fore and a savoury, broth-like note underneath. On the palate it is full, round and juicy, with raisins, dried fruits, spicy tobacco and a little ginger. The finish begins with aged, damp wood and herbs, then moves through red fruit, apple syrup and peach to warm, dry spice.
