Old Perth Double Sherry Wood is a blended malt from the Morrison family, previous owners of Bowmore, Auchentoshan and Glen Garioch, who revived the Old Perth brand. It is bottled at 48.2%.
The whisky was matured in fresh, first fill sherry barrels, in particular Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez, drawing on the family's long connections with Spanish sherry bodegas.
Expect rich dried fruits and baking spices, with a lengthy, developing finish. The character is entirely sherry driven, with little to no smoke.
