Old Potrero 6 Years Old is a straight rye whiskey in a 75cl bottle, bottled at 48.5% ABV.
It was aged in new, handmade, fine-grain American oak barrels that were charred in the traditional manner. Coopers learned in the early 19th century that letting the fire continue inside the barrel would char it rather than just toast it, and that charring gives the rye a rich colour and a distinctive character.
