Old Pulteney – Coastal Series Port Cask (70cl, 46%)

Old Pulteney Coastal Series Port Cask is a limited edition single malt from the distillery at Wick, on the north-east coast of the Scottish Highlands. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky is first matured in second-fill American oak ex-bourbon casks, then moved into Ruby Port pipes and Ruby Port barriques from Portugal's Douro Valley. The nose brings sultanas and candied orange, with buttery vanilla, marzipan and gingerbread spice. On the palate there is baked apple and cinnamon, then vanilla custard and warming spice, with coastal brine running through.
