Old Pulteney Harbour is a Highland single malt named after Wick, the port town where the Old Pulteney distillery has stood since 1826. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is matured in American oak casks that previously held bourbon. It is made at one of the most northerly distilleries in Scotland, and reflects the coastal climate of the North Sea.
The nose is fresh, with green apple, pear and citrus alongside honey, vanilla and a light salty note. The palate shows orchard fruit, caramel, vanilla and buttery biscuit, with light minerality and a touch of spice. The finish is medium and refreshing, with vanilla, soft oak and a salty edge.
