This is the holiday edition of Pappy Van Winkle's 15 year old wheated bourbon, recognisable by its red foil cap. It is made to the Van Winkle family wheated recipe, using barrels chosen from the heart of a Kentucky warehouse, and comes in a 75cl bottle.
In the glass it is a hazy copper. The nose is caramel corn and vanilla, and the palate is rich and full-bodied, with caramel, toffee and a peppery brown spice.
The finish is long and evolving, with spice and oak tannins.
