Parker's Heritage Heavy Char Barrels is a Kentucky straight wheat whiskey aged 11 years, and the 15th edition of the Parker's Heritage Collection. It uses the same mash bill as Bernheim Wheat Whiskey, but the barrels were charred for 90 seconds rather than the usual 40.
The release is made up of 75 barrels, all aged on the sixth floor of Rickhouse Y, and it was bottled at 61% without chill filtration.
The nose offers honey, cinnamon, seasoned oak, barrel char and gingerbread. Honey, baking spices, tobacco and charred oak lead the palate, and the finish returns with spice, nutmeg, a slight nuttiness and toasted oak.
