Peerless Double Oak is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 75cl bottle, bottled at 108.7 proof. The whiskey is exposed to two separate casks, which allows two full barrel extractions.
The tasting team selects barrels with prominent grain, fruit and herbaceous character, chosen to sit well alongside the added influence of the second cask.
The nose offers sweet oak with orange zest and cedar, then tobacco and herbs. Honey sweetness on the palate gives way to cinnamon, spicy oak and leather, and the finish carries toasted oak and dry cocoa.
