This is a 14 year old Glen Spey from Speyside, distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2024 by The Whisky Cellar as part of its Pintail series. It matured in a refill ex-bourbon hogshead and was then moved to a barrique that previously held Loupiac, a sweet white Bordeaux wine. Cask 12031 gave 315 bottles, bottled at 54.7% without chill-filtration or added colouring. The nose shows beeswax and light honeycomb, with dried grass and subtle citrus. On the palate, apple pie and ripe peach join sultanas and creamy vanilla, with a hint of violet and orange blossom water. The long finish brings silky almond oil together with pepper spice and toasted oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
