This is a single cask Port Ellen from Islay, bottled by Signatory Vintage. The whisky was distilled in 1982 and matured for 26 years in a hogshead, cask number 1514, before bottling in 2008 at 59.3% ABV. It comes in a 70cl bottle. Port Ellen was founded in 1825 on the southern coast of Islay and stopped production in 1983. The distillery is known for maritime peat character and elegant smoke, and its malts are valued for their balance of minerality, citrus and coastal peat.
