Port Ellen – 1983 'Eidolon' 36 Year Old Hunter Laing (56.5%)

This is a Port Ellen single malt, distilled in 1983 and matured for 36 years before it was bottled by Hunter Laing at 56.5% ABV. The whisky was distilled shortly before the distillery closed. It is the first release in Hunter Laing's Eidolon series, a name taken from ancient Greek that means a remembrance of something memorable from history. The bottling runs to 638 bottles.
