Powerscourt – Fercullen First Release Single Malt Irish Whiskey (70cl, 46%)

Fercullen First Release is an Irish single malt from Powerscourt Distillery, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is the distillery's first fully self-produced bottling, and the first whiskey made in the Wicklow area in more than a century. The malt is triple distilled in copper pot stills, matured in bourbon casks and left non-chill filtered. On the nose it shows caramel, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg alongside pear and apple. The palate is creamy vanilla with salted caramel and caramelised apple cake, leading to a warming, medium-long finish of oak, leather and honey-roasted almonds.
