Pride of Strathspey is an older series of Macallan bottlings from the independent bottlers Gordon & MacPhail. This one is a 12 year old Highland malt, gold in colour.
The nose shows golden raisins, honey, floral and menthol notes, vanilla pod, orange blossom and pollen, with a little camphor cream and fresh grape juice. On the palate there are ripe peaches and apples, raisins, prunes, dried pears, strawberry juice, mead and orange liqueur, with no distinct oak character.
The finish is medium and leans towards herbs, with verbena and mint.
