Rampur Double Cask is an Indian single malt whisky from Radico Khaitan in Uttar Pradesh, bottled at 45% ABV. It is double distilled from six-row barley.
About two-thirds of its maturation is in American bourbon barrels, and the remaining third is in European oak sherry casks. The climate in Uttar Pradesh swings from roughly 30°F to 110°F with high humidity. Whisky Advocate gave it 93 points and a Top 20 ranking.
The nose is vanilla, browned butter, stewed apple and tropical fruit with toasted oak. The palate is creamy and malty, with raisins, plums and dark cherries. The finish is moderately long, with cinnamon, baking spices and butterscotch.
