Rampur Vintage Select Casks is an Indian single malt whisky from Radico Khaitan, bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is distilled in copper pot stills from six-row barley rather than the two-row variety common in Scotch, and matured in the foothills of the Himalayas in Uttar Pradesh, where wide seasonal swings in temperature speed the whisky's interaction with the cask.
The nose is toffee and honey with dried fruit, apricot, apple peel and a floral lift. The palate is malty and creamy, with candied ginger, sandalwood and vanilla. The finish is long and warming, with red fruit, baking spice, caramel and fudge.
