Rare Hare Tempest 20 Year Old Tasmanian Single Malt

Tempest is a 20 year old Tasmanian single malt from the Hellyers Road distillery, chosen by Rare Hare as its fourth premium release. The name nods to Shakespeare's play. The whisky spent seventeen years in standard-size bourbon casks, then a further three years in port casks. It is a cask strength expression. The nose is typically described as biscotti, butter snaps, vanilla nougat, elderflower and marmalade. The palate is velvety, with ginger, stewed apricots, orange, sultanas and grapes, and the finish is warm and lingering, led by toffee.
