Rare Stash 95 Rye, from Dustin Poirier, is a small batch Kentucky rye whiskey made from a 95/5 mash bill. It was filled into barrels at 122 proof and aged for over four years in Char #3 oak, then bottled at 101 proof, which is 50.5% ABV.
The nose is bold, with pleasant rye spice and floral notes. Honey, spice, anise and ginger come through on the palate, with hints of orange peel and mint, and the finish carries caramel, cinnamon, vanilla and eucalyptus.
