Rare Stash Bourbon #2 is a blend of two straight bourbons, bottled at 45.5% ABV (91 proof) in a 750ml bottle. One is 8.5 years old and aged in number four char white oak; the other is 7.5 years old and aged in number three char white oak. They were sourced from Tennessee and Indiana and brought together in Bardstown, Kentucky.
Both share a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley.
The nose is rich and slightly sweet, with vanilla, oak and caramel. The palate brings vanilla, butterscotch, oak and a hint of chocolate over a penetrating warmth, and the finish is long and smooth.
